Chapter 13

Prajakta's POV:

I walked into the lecture hall, ready to take notes

"There have been some changes in the project," he announced, his voice firm but apologetic. "Some topics have been changed, and groups have been rearranged. You'll need to adjust your work accordingly."

The room erupted into a chorus of groans and complaints. I couldn't blame them - I was just as frustrated. We were already halfway through the project, and now we had to start all over again?

"Sir, please," one student pleaded, "we can't do it again from scratch. We've already put in so much work."

The professor shook his head sympathetically. "I'm sorry, students. It's not in my hands. The changes have come from the faculty, and we have to follow them."

I glanced over at my friends Kavya and Ravi, who were sitting next to me. They were both cursing under their breath, their faces red with frustration.

"This college is the worst," Kavya muttered. "I don't know where we're stuck. They're making our lives hell."

Ravi nodded in agreement. "I know, right? It's like they want us to fail or something."

I sighed, feeling a sense of solidarity with my friends. "True," I said, shaking my head. "I can't believe we have to start all over again."

The professor droned on, explaining the new topics and group assignments. I tried to pay attention,

Just as I thought the lecture was over, the professor added, "And one more thing, students. Some companies will be coming to the college for internship opportunities, so be prepared. If anyone needs any kind of help or guidance related to the internships, you can come to me. I'll be happy to assist you."

I perked up at this, my interest piqued. An internship would be a great opportunity to gain some practical experience and build my resume. I made a mental note to prepare myself for the company visits

Abhimaan's POV:

---

I walked into the office, determined to catch the mole who was sabotaging our project. I called a meeting with the entire team, trying to act nonchalant.

"Good morning, everyone. I've been thinking, and I don't like the direction this project is heading. I'm making some changes."

My team looked at me in surprise, but I continued, trying to keep my cool.

"Rohan, can you make sure everything is ready in the conference room? We'll have a meeting there at 2 PM."

Rohan nodded, and I could see the confusion in his eyes. But I knew I had to keep up the act.

After the meeting, I called off the meeting, pretending to be busy with something else. But in reality, I was waiting for the mole to make their move.

I watched from my office as Rohan set up the conference room, making sure everything was in place. And then, I waited.

It didn't take long. The man snuck into the conference room, trying to steal the project files. But little did he know, everything was being recorded on CCTV.

I watched as he rummaged through the files, his eyes scanning the documents. And then, I made my move.

"Ajay, you fell for it hook, line, and sinker," I said, smirking at him. "The project I sent you was a decoy, a trap . And you walked right into it."

Ajay's eyes widened in shock, "What...what do you mean?"

"The real project is safe with me," I revealed, "I knew you'd try something like this, so I set a trap. And now, you're finished."

"Si....rr. i caaa...n. .... Explain.

Please sir You...you can't do this to me! I was just trying to help the company!"

I raised an eyebrow, "Help the company? By sabotaging our project and stealing our files? You're not even a good liar, Ajay."

Ajay's eyes dropped in shame, "I...I didn't do anything.."

I shrugged, You're done. Your betrayal will not be forgotten.Rohan blacklist him and make sure he won't get job in any company.and take special care of him."

I walked out of the meeting room, we got the deal with the client. My secretary Rohan was waiting for me outside, a file in his hand.

"Sir, congratulations on the deal," he said, smiling.

"Thanks, Rohan. I'm glad it went well," I replied, heading towards my cabin.

Once inside, I started going through some papers when Rohan knocked on the door again.

"Sir, I need to inform you about tomorrow's schedule," he said, entering the cabin.

"What is it?" I asked, not looking up.

"We have a campus recruitment drive at XYZ College tomorrow for internship selections," he said.

I looked up, surprised. "Why wasn't I informed earlier? I could have cleared my schedule."

Rohan looked taken aback. "Sir, you're also coming with us?"

I nodded, a hint of a smile on my face. "Yes, why? Do you have a problem with that?"

Rohan hesitated, "No, sir...it's just that you usually don't attend these events, so..."

I leaned back in my chair, XYZ College was Prajakta's college, and I couldn't miss this opportunity to see her again.

"No problem, Rohan. I'll make sure to be there." I said,

Rohan nodded and left my cabin,

Prajakta's pov

I sat in front of my laptop, attending my online class as usual. Professor was explaining the concepts, and I was taking notes diligently. Just as the class was about to end, he dropped a bombshell.

"Remember, students, tomorrow is the internship selection at our college. Be prepared, and I'll send out the details on the college group," he said, before signing off.

I quickly opened the college group on WhatsApp and saw the notice. My heart started racing as I read the details.

As I began preparing my resume and portfolio,

", God, I know I'm not your favorite child or anything, but please, please, please select me for this internship. I've been working so hard, and I really need this opportunity. Please, God, just this once, make me stand out. I promise to be a good girl and do great work. Please, please, please...And, God, if they select me, I'll go to the temple and offer you a chocolate! Yes, Cadbury Dairy Milk! I'll make sure to get it for you, please God, just grant me this wish!"

Next day

I got ready for college and headed to my lecture, After the lecture, we made our way to the auditorium where the internship selection was being held. Kavya and I found a seat and waited for our turn, trying to calm our racing hearts.

Aayush had wished us luck and opted out of the selection process, saying he'd handle his father's company instead.

As we waited, I noticed students going in and out of the interview room. Some came out looking defeated, their faces pale and worried. Others were crying, and their friends were consoling them.

"How was the interview?" Kavya asked one of the students.

"It was hard," she replied, shaking her head. "The CEO of the company is present. he is really strict and rude. His questions were tough, and I was trembling in fear."

Some girls nearby were gushing about the CEO's good looks. "Oh my god, he's so hot!" one of them squealed.

I felt a surge of fear, thinking about facing such a intimidating CEO. For a moment, I considered backing out, not wanting to face potential scolding or rejection. But then I saw a girl coming out of the interview room with a huge smile on her face.

"It went so well!" she exclaimed to her friends. "I think they'll select me for sure! And oh my god, the CEO is just... wow! He is so hot and handsome "

Kavya and I exchanged nervous glances. "What if we get scolded?" I whispered.

"I don't know, but we have to try," Kavya replied, her voice barely audible.

"We can do this," I told myself, trying to sound convincing. "

But as we continued waiting, my nerves only grew worse. What if I messed up? What if the CEO was as scary as everyone said?

Kavya and I waited anxiously, our names yet to be called. Finally, the announcer said, "Kavya Gupta , please proceed to the interview room."

I turned to Kavya and whispered, "All the best!" She smiled nervously and headed inside.

I waited anxiously for what felt like an eternity, my mind racing with thoughts of what could be happening inside the interview room. Finally, Kavya emerged, looking a bit relieved but still nervous.

"How was it?" I asked her, trying to sound calm.

"They asked me some questions," she replied, "I answered some correctly, but missed a few. I was really nervous, but I tried my best. Let's hope for the best."

I tried to stay positive, telling myself that it was okay, and that I could still do well.

But as I waited for my turn, my nerves only grew worse. Two students ahead of me were called, and I felt my heart racing with anticipation. And then, suddenly, I heard my name being called.

"Miss Prajakta Sharma, please proceed to the interview room," the announcer said, his voice echoing through the auditorium.

My heart skipped a beat as I stood up,  I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down, and made my way to the interview room.

I entered the room, trying to exude confidence, and greeted the panel with a bright "Good afternoon, sir!"

But as I scanned the room, my eyes landed on a familiar face, and Mr khurana! What was he doing here? I was  surprised and shocked, shit i didn't read that notice fully I just checked the time.

I tried to compose myself, reminding myself that I had to focus on the interview. But my eyes kept drifting back to Abhimaan, who was sitting with a stern expression, his eyes fixed on me.

I took a deep breath and tried to shake off the distraction. I had to focus on the interview, not on Abhimaan's piercing gaze. But it was hard to ignore.

Abhimaan's POV:

As she entered the room, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. She was wearing a simple jeans and short kurti, with no makeup, yet her natural beauty shone through. A simple lip balm was the only adornment on her lips. She looked nervous, fidgeting with her fingers, and I could sense her trembling in fear.

As she greeted us with a "Good afternoon, sir," I maintained a neutral expression, not wanting to reveal my thoughts. But when she saw me, her eyes widened in shock, and I could tell she was taken aback. I didn't show any emotions, keeping my face stern and professional.

I glanced at her resume,  her academic background is good .I decided to ask her a few easy questions, intentionally,

"So, Prajakta, can you tell me the importance of market research in business?" I asked, my tone firm but gentle.

She hesitated for a moment before answering, "Market research helps businesses understand consumer behavior, identify market trends, and make informed decisions to stay competitive."

I nodded, impressed by her response. "Good. And how do you think a company can improve its financial management?"

She thought for a moment before answering, "By implementing efficient budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis, a company can optimize its resources and make better investment decisions."

I smiled, pleased with her answers. "Good, you can go."

Before anyone else could ask any questions, I intervened, wanting

to wrap up the interview quickly because I wanted her in my company.
